Viewers of HBO‘s Real Time with Bill Maher, which is now on its 19th season, may have tuned in last night expecting to watch Episode 21. After yet another busy and eventful week in politics, including a NYC grand-jury indictment of former President Donald Trump’s business and its chief financial officer (Allen Weisselberg), as well as a controversial 6-3 Federal Supreme Court ruling that declared two provisions of an Arizona voting law that restrict how ballots can be cast do not violate the historic Voting Rights Act through racial discrimination, did Bill Maher get to deliver his usual comical political jabs?
Oh, also sex offender Bill Cosby was freed from jail, Britney Spears has been denied release from the restrictive conservatorship agreement established by her father when she was a teen and the worrisome coronavirus Delta variant is starting to spread quicker just to name a few other things that went on this week.
The Gulf of Mexico (yes, the ocean) was also literally on fire yesterday due to a ruptured pipeline while the Biden administration continues its vaccine education tour, all while American prepare to celebrate this year’s annual patriotic and fireworks-laden holiday the Fourth of July. There was also a recent New York City mayoral race that is currently in recount and has yet to be called.
Should viewers have expected Maher to weigh in on these topics and more last night?
Unfortunately, that did not occur. There was no new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday, July 2. Maher is currently taking a short break and is expected to return with a brand new episode on Friday, July 30.
Thus far, there have been twenty new episodes of Real Time with Bill Maher in season 19. The popular HBO show should be back to its antics in no time.
