Investigators were trying to determine the cause of a suspicious fire that swept through an Anaheim Hills house early Tuesday, July 20, and damaged two other houses, an Anaheim Fire & Rescue spokesman said.
No injuries were reported.
Sgt. Shane Carringer said the 5:20 a.m. fire in the 500 block of Golden Sky Lane got the attention of arson investigators and was “suspicious,” but that there was no specific information that the blaze was intentionally set.
Neighbors reported that there might have been a few people inside, but as of mid-morning everyone was accounted for and safe, said Carringer, who is the spokesman for the fire and police departments.
Firefighters did an initial search but were delayed in making a more thorough search because of the house’s condition.
“There’s a concern that the walls could cave in or collapse,” Carringer said.
He described the house as a total loss.
Firefighters arrived to find the house fully engulfed by flames, Carringer said. The fire also summoned crews from the city of Orange and the Orange County Fire Authority.
