Matthew Macfadyen is getting candid about what it’s like watching his wife Keeley Hawes‘s sex scenes in her Netflix series Bodyguard.
The 47-year-old Succession actor recently told The Times that it still hits a nerve “a little bit” watching his wife being intimate with her costar Richard Madden in the show.

“You can get quite close to the actors you’re working with and all that stuff. It’s odd,” Matthew said. The Pride and Prejudice star actually met Keeley on the set of their BBC One show Spooks in 2002.
However, he added that as an actor he realizes filming a sex scene is “the least sexy thing you can possibly imagine.”
He also emphasized the importance of their being intimacy coordinators on set, who make sure everyone is comfortable with the scenes.
“I wish we’d had them,” he explained. “Because then you’re not afraid to go, ‘I don’t want to do that.’ It sounds OTT, but it’s a healthy overcorrection, because it takes away the pressure to take off all your clothes, or do stuff you didn’t want to do.
Matthew and Keeley tied the knot in November 2004 and share two children, daughter Maggie, 16, and son Ralph, 15. Matthew is also a stepdad to Keely‘s first son Myles, 21, from her previous marriage to Spencer McCallum.
Earlier this month, Matthew and his Succession co-star Nicholas Braun pitched some ideas for a spinoff featuring their characters Tom and Greg. Check it out!
