Steve Buscemi sure got the attention of trick-or-treaters in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York on Sunday.
For Halloween this year, the acclaimed actor recreated his iconic 30 Rock character – a private investigator trying to pass off as a teenager – who delivered the meme-worthy line: ‘How do you do, fellow kids?’
Wearing that very same outfit, which included a backward red baseball cap, red hoodie, and ‘music band’ t-shirt, Buscemi handed out candy and posed for photos outside his Brooklyn home throughout the day, all while holding on to his character’s skateboard.
In one photo posted on Twitter, a couple of young women snuggled up next to Buscemi for a selfie snap that showed the actor decked out in his replicated 30 Rock costume.
His ‘music band’ t-shirt and skateboard were nearly in full view, as he looked straight into the camera with an almost expressionless look on his face, as his two fans flashed beaming smiles.
There’s another Twitter photo that caught Buscemi handing out Halloween goodies to neighbors and fans alike, while standing on the stairs of the Brooklyn brownstone.
‘Fellow kids’: One trick or treater was in on the joke and snapped a photo of Steve Buscemi dressed as his own 30 Rock character for Halloween outside his Brooklyn, New York home in the Park Slope neighborhood
The now iconic character, named Lenny Wosniak, was just a cameo in The Tuxedo Begins episode that also starred Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan.
Buscemi’s character is a private investigator who boasts that he was once ‘part of a police task force of young looking cops who infiltrated high schools.’
It’s at this point that his character, decked out in his red hat, hoodie and skateboard, can be seen walking the halls of a high school. Just as he passes a row of lockers, he greets students by saying, ‘How do you do, fellow kids?’

The scene quickly became a viral sensation, and to this day it remains an extremely popular meme, more than nine years after it aired on NBC.
Seeing Buscemi try to pass off as a teenager in a meme is typically used by people who want to make a self-deprecating joke that they are old and do not understand something current or hip.
Or in some cases, the meaning of the meme can be e flipped around and be used to accuse someone else of being too old, or trying to fit in with or pander to youth culture.
