‘Your makeup may have staying power, but does your makeup stay unmoved after a long beach swim (yes, head under water after diving through waves), then beach shower, then a walk, and no touch ups?’ Laura posted on Facebook.
‘I still cannot believe my foundation/mascara/bronzer/eyeshadow has not moved after going to the beach!’
Laura told FEMAIL that on that particular day she was wearing Nars’ Natural Radiance Longwear Foundation ($78), which she put on with a sponge.
She also wore Born This Way Concealer ($48), Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder ($62), Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($42) and Elf Cosmetics Bronzer ($16) to give her a sun-kissed glow.
‘I wear makeup to the beach because I am recovering from adult acne and am a bit self-conscious about my skin,’ Laura told Daily Mail Australia.
‘Before my makeup, I put on a moisturiser, sunscreen and my Nars Smooth and Protect Primer ($58).’

When it comes to her tips for making your makeup last the distance and survive even in water, Laura said preparation is key.
‘You absolutely have to have a good skincare routine before you put on your makeup,’ she said.
This ought to consist of a cleanser, toner, moisturiser, SPF and serum if you have time.
‘You should also let your primer set before you do your makeup,’ Laura said.
The 27-year-old applies her Nars foundation with a damp beauty sponge, as if you use a BeautyBlender when it’s dry, it will ‘suck up’ all of your product.
Using it wet also helps to make your look last longer throughout the day.
‘Finally, even though you want to wipe your eyes while you’re swimming, don’t touch them,’ Laura said.
‘I couldn’t believe my makeup was still perfectly in place after the entire day.’
Professional makeup artist Megan Milo (pictured) from Melbourne revealed how you can ‘sweat-proof’ your makeup in the summer months with a few handy tips
Previously, a professional makeup artist from Melbourne revealed how you can ‘sweat-proof’ your makeup in the summer months with a few handy tips.
‘If you want your makeup to last in warmer weather, ditch the oil pre-makeup,’ Megan Milo told Adore Beauty.
‘As soon as a water-based product hits oil, it’s going to separate. You can watch it happen in real time by adding some oil to a glass of water and seeing how they repel each other – that’s what will happen on your face.’
Instead of oil, Megan said you’re better off prepping your skin with a hyaluronic acid or a hydrating primer.
Her favourites include Napoleon Perdis’ Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer ($59), which helps to minimise redness and irritation while preparing the skin for makeup.
The next thing Megan said you should do for sweat-free skin this summer is get rid of your long-wear full-coverage foundation.
The key to sweat-proofing your makeup is to tailor your base products to the different parts of your face, Megan said.
For example, if you know you’ve got a sweaty T-zone then use a mattifying product there, then add something more illuminating on areas like your cheeks, which can often be dry.
‘Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation ($21.95) is a good sweat-proof foundation because it’s mattifying, but still makes your skin look like skin,’ she said.
You should also only use setting powder strategically in the areas that you know get sweaty rather than your whole face.
The makeup artist highlighted RCMA No Colour Powder ($24) as a great option.
