Nearly 20 years after his breakthrough 2004 album The College Dropout was released, fans can get a glimpse at the recording process in a clip from Act 2 of Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, debuting Wednesday on Netflix.
The documentary will be released in three feature-length ‘acts, with Act 1, dubbed Vision, debuting at Sundance and in theaters February 10 before it was released on Netflix February 16.
Act 2, dubbed Purpose, was released Wednesday on Netflix, with Act 3, Awakening, debuting March 2 on the streaming service.

The undated clip shows West talking through the concept of his hit song Slow Jamz with collaborator Jamie Foxx.
The College Dropout album was recorded over a four-year period between 1999 and 2003 before its release on February 10, 2004.
Foxx is featured on Slow Jamz, with the clip opening with Kanye being asked what the title of the song is, which he reveals is Slow Jamz.

Another producer, Breyon Prescott, calls Jamie Foxx is, asking West to, ‘tell him what the concept is for this song.
‘My concept for this song, right, the girls are gonna be like, “I feel where you’re going with this concept and all this rapping but sometimes I just need um… I just need some slow s**t. I need some dusties You know what I’m saying?’ West explained.
Foxx said that him and Prescott, ‘just got through talking about that, as they start playing the melody for Foxx as West starts rapping the lyrics.

The Jeen-Yuhs documentary was directed by Coodie & Chikie, which was acquired by Netflix in May 2021 for a reported $30 million.
