Amy Winehouses father is suing his late daughters two friends in the High Court over claims they kept the profits from a sale of her things. Mitch Winehouse, a former taxi driver, wants to recover the money he said should be paid to the foundation established in the singers name.

Amy’s rumoured lover Catriona Gourlay and stylist Naomi Parry allegedly gained a portion of the £3.3million raised during an auction in Beverly Hills in America in 2021.

Amy died from alcohol poisoning in 2011 aged 27 – with a Parry-made dress that the singer wore for her last ever performance reportedly fetching £200,000 at the auction. 

Notes written by the star were also claimed to be among the items sold, The Sun reported.

The newspaper was told by the Amy Winehouse Estate that Catriona and Naomi sold more of Amy’s belongings this year. 

In a statement, it added: ‘Two individuals sold a number of items at that auction and have retained the proceeds: the items were all Amy-related.

‘This year they put more Amy-related items up for auction. Together, the two auctions generated six-figure sums for each of them.’

Naomi penned a book about Amy in 2021 which included a chapter by Catriona. 

In a BBC documentary, Catriona told of her relationship with Amy, saying: ‘Our relationship was so unique.’

MailOnline was unable to contact Catriona Gourlay and Naomi Parry for comment but it is understood they dispute the claims.
