Friends and family are not giving up hope as the search for a Massachusetts teacher enter its 12th day.

Meghan Marohn, 42, has been missing since March 27. Her brother, Peter Naple, said it’s not unusual for her to take short trips alone but it’s unusual for her not to get in touch with family.

“I texted with her Saturday night when she was staying at a hotel here in Stockbridge,” Naple previously said, according to News Nation. “She was having a bowl of soup and reading her book. I said I’d speak with her tomorrow. And that was the last I heard from her.”

Marohn’s family contacted police when they didn’t hear from her again, and ended up finding her vehicle in Longcope Park, a secluded 46-acre park with hiking trails. According to police, Marohn likely parked her car in the area to go hiking, as they were able to track her cellphone in the area for a short while before it went dead.

Police do not suspect foul play at this time.

“Some areas are extremely difficult and very thick and that has hampered search efforts,” Lee police Chief Craig DeSantis said.

The name of the hotel Marohn was staying at has not been made public at this time.

Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Lee police at 413-243-5530 or Bethlehem, New York police at 518-439-9973.

“We are talking about one of my best friends,” Naple said. “We’re talking about someone who’s touched countless students.”

A $50,000 is being offered by the family for information that leads to Marohn’s safe return. Check back for updates.
