Billie Eilish couldn’t contain her excitement as she beat out a very impressive group of nominees for Best International Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards 2021.
After emerging victorious in the highly competitive category, over Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, the 19-year-old singer accepted her trophy from home wearing a cozy sweatshirt and her fresh blonde hair styled in natural waves.
‘This is an honor, The BRITs were so magical for me last year and I think about it all the time. Thank you so much, I miss you. I can’t until I can come back,’ the Bad Guy hitmaker gushed in her heartfelt acceptance speech.
Winner! Billie Eilish couldn’t contain her excitement as she beat out a very impressive group of nominees for Best International Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards 2021
Last year, the seven-time Grammy winner won the same category and left fans stunned with her first live performance of her hit James Bond theme No Time To Die.
Her win comes after she was quizzed by a host of stars including Justin Bieber, Orlando Bloom, Mel C and Stormzy during a star-studded video shared by Vogue this month.
And although speaking with some of the biggest names in entertainment, it was the Killing Eve‘s Jodie Comer, 28, who left Billie gushing and having to ‘pull herself together’.

Grateful: Eilish looked joyful as she accepted the award from across the pond
When Jodie popped up to ask her about her ‘go-to karaoke song,’ Eilish Billie gasped as she took in the fun question and declared: ‘Jodie! I have such a crush on you, girl… let me pull myself together.’
The star then considered her answer and revealed: ‘Gosh, I really love H.E.R, I feel empowered when I sing H.E.R songs or Chief Keef to be honest. I don’t know if they even have those at karaoke bars but I would request some Chief Keef.’
Billie also recently revealed that she feels ‘more like a woman’ with her new blonde hair as she detailed her transformation in a stunning British Vogue cover shoot.

Billie looked worlds away from her androgynous style as she channelled Hollywood superstar Marilyn Monroe in a pink corset and suspenders for the shoot, as she went onto discuss her haunting single Your Power.
Discussing her new hair, Billie confessed she was ‘ready for it to suck’ but it’s actually been the perfect transformation.
Having long been an advocate of confidence, Billie vowed to clear up a ‘lot of weird miscommunications’ about her beliefs.

She added: ‘It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f**k it – if you feel like you look good, you look good.’
Billie, who said she rekindled her love for music in lockdown, added that she hopes by taking a statement on her own beliefs she hopes to maintain control over her own narrative.
The star continued: ‘It’s about taking that power back, showing it off and not taking advantage with it. I’m not letting myself be owned anymore.’

How did BRIT Awards go ahead during the Covid pandemic?
The 2021 BRIT Awards marked the first live music event in the UK since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The indoor ceremony and live show formed part of the Government’s scientific Events Research Programme.
Enhanced testing approaches will examine how events can take place without the need for social distancing after all restrictions are lifted on June 21.
4,000 tickets were made available for the live ceremony, just one fifth of the venue’s 20,000 capacity, with 2,500 of those being given to key workers.
The BRITs will play an important role in paving the way for the return of live music at scale as the UK emerges from the past year’s restrictions.
Audience members were not socially distanced or required to wear face coverings once seated inside the arena, though they were required in communal areas such as the toilet or main concourse.
All attendees were allowed to purchase alcohol and concessions once inside the O2 Arena.
Attendees were also required to follow existing Government guidance when travelling to the venue and adhere to rules set out by the event organisers.
Among the rules, attendees had to provide proof of a negative lateral flow test result to enter the venue, and said test had to be taken at an asymptomatic testing site within 36 hours of the ceremony.
Upon arrival at the venue, all attendess were asked to take a PCR test, and will then take another test five days after the ceremony
It’s hoped this will gather further evidence on the safety of indoor settings, reduced social distancing and the removal of non-pharmaceutical interventions like face coverings.
