An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player recently recreated the iconic Fort Hateno from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Creating mash-ups of Animal Crossing and other popular franchises has become a fun way for New Horizons players to show off their building skills. Whether it be a movie, video game, or television show, like this Community-inspired design, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans will find a clever way to recreate it Animal Crossing style.

Players have become increasingly creative when it comes to figuring out ways to make an Animal Crossing build look faithful to its source material. With the help of the latest DLC, Happy Home Paradise, in-game renovations have become more in-depth and enjoyable for players. There are a lot of items available to decorate the interior and exterior of the homes and now instead of purchasing items with Bells or NookMiles, they are free to use (once players reach a certain level within the DLC). With access to all of the items, the player is able to get exactly the look they are going for. Another way that helps players achieve the perfect look is by using Custom Designs created by other players. There are thousands of downloadable patterns available for clothing, wallpapers, and even pathways through the village. With all of these exciting additions, even celebrities are using Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a way to show off their creative designs.

Reddit user Naydinfar-Crossing shared their Animal Crossing version of Fort Hateno from Breath of the Wild. The scene shows the front of the decrepit fort surrounded by giant vines and swords. On the path to the front of the fort, there are multiple Guardians in different states of decay. This is thanks to the new DLC, which is allowing players to think outside of the box and encouraging players to use different items in place of those that they might not have access to. In the comments, Naydinfar-Crossing mentioned that the Guardians are just dresses with a Guardian design on them, which is a creative way to get the look they were going for.

Seeing a popular game recreated in Animal Crossing is always enjoyable, such as an ACNH player’s take on Genshin Impact’s Dawn Winery, each scene is recreated with a lot of care and attention to detail. In Naydinfar-Crossing’s Fort Hateno, there are vines crawling up the front entrance to the fort, and giant vines on the sides and along the path give it the appearance of decay. Their character is wearing Link’s Champion’s Tunic and this design was also made by the original poster. Both of the design codes for the Guardians and Link’s tunic are in the comments for anyone who wants to use them in their own build. Link standing in the rain and looking up at the camera brings the entire scene together perfectly.

The crossover that is often seen between Animal Crossing and Breath of the Wild fans is no surprise as both franchises are wildly popular. Fans creating versions of these iconic The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild locations in Animal Crossing: New Horizons feels like a natural bridge between the two games and because of that it is likely there will be more to come.
