Ten Ravens, including starters cornerback Anthony Averett (thigh), defensive end Calais Campbell (concussion), right tackle Patrick Mekari (ankle) and fullback Patrick Ricard (hip/foot), did not practice Wednesday, according to the team’s crowded injury report.
Others who did not practice were wide receiver Miles Boykin (finger), tackle Cedric Ogbuehi (thigh), cornerbacks Jimmy Smith (neck), Chris Westry (thigh) and Tavon Young (foot/knee) and outside linebacker Justin Houston (rest).
Wide receivers Marquise Brown (thigh) and Devin Duvernay (knee/chest), linebacker Josh Bynes (hip) and nose tackle Brandon Williams (shoulder) were limited participants.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson (illness) was a full participant. He said Wednesday he expects to start Sunday night against the Cleveland Browns after missing Week 11 against the Bears in Chicago.
The news was particularly bleak at cornerback, where Marlon Humphrey was the only member of the team’s regular rotation who practiced.
The injuries to Campbell, the team’s top interior defensive linemen, and Ricard, a Pro Bowl candidate at fullback, were not evident during the team’s 16-13 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Several key players on the Cleveland Browns, including quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder/foot/groin), defensive tackle Malik Jackson (knee) and wide receivers Jarvis Landry (knee) and Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin), also did not practice Wednesday. Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (neck/wrist/knee) was limited.
Hall of Fame semifinalists
Three former Ravens on Wednesday were named first-time semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Wide receivers Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith Sr. and Devin Hester are all up for enshrinement in the Class of 2022. Offensive tackle Willie Anderson, a two-time semifinalist, is also under consideration. Fifteen finalists will be selected before the final voting process begins.
Boldin caught 186 passes for 2,645 yards and 14 touchdowns over his three years in Baltimore (2010-12). Boldin ranks 14th all time in receiving yards (13,779).
Smith had 195 catches for 2,534 yards and 14 touchdowns over his three seasons in Baltimore (2014-16). He finished his career with the eighth-most receiving yards in NFL history (14,731).
Hester, one of the most electric returners in NFL history, played in 12 games in Baltimore in 2016. Anderson, a four-time Pro Bowl selection with the Cincinnati Bengals, started 11 games for the Ravens that same season.
