JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle crash that left one man dead.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday, an SUV and a motorcycle heading north on Blanding Boulevard collided near Confederate Point Road, ejecting the driver of the motorcycle. He was then struck by a minivan traveling in the opposite direction and died at the scene.
None of the drivers left the scene and are cooperating with police.
JSO investigators are looking into whether speed was a factor in this crash.
There have been two fatal motorcycle crashes recently that News4JAX has covered.
On Feb. 19, a motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with critical injuries after being hit by a car on Interstate 95 near University Boulevard.
A motorcyclist was also killed on U.S. 17 at Collins Road on Feb. 1.
JSO reported that this accident is the 33rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year. It is the sixth fatal crash involving a motorcycle.

Last year alone, in Duval, there were 21 motorcycle fatalities, according to the state’s crash dashboard.
